5th Asia Automotive Award 2025 Brings Asia’s Automotive Industry Together in Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand – 17 January 2026 – The 5th Asia Automotive Award (AAA) successfully brought together Asia’s automotive industry leaders in Bangkok, Thailand, marking a significant milestone as the prestigious awards ceremony was held outside Malaysia for the first time. The event was organised by AsiaAuto Venture Sdn Bhd (MOTONATION) and hosted by Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, highlighting the growing importance of regional collaboration in shaping the future of Asia’s automotive and mobility ecosystem.

Guided by the award’s official motto, “Driving the Future of Asia Automotive Business Together,” the 5th Asia Automotive Award served as a regional platform uniting automotive manufacturers, suppliers, technology providers, aftermarket players, and industry stakeholders from across Asia. Participating countries included Vietnam, South Korea, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Cambodia, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Mongolia, reflecting the award’s expanding regional reach and influence.

The black-tie awards ceremony and gala dinner were held at the Viphavadee Ballroom, Centara Grand CentralPlaza Ladprao Hotel, welcoming senior executives, organisational leaders, and key decision-makers from both the four-wheel and two-wheel automotive sectors. The evening combined international prestige with local cultural identity, highlighted by a traditional Khon performance, offering guests a uniquely Thai experience while celebrating excellence across Asia’s automotive industry.

The gala dinner was graced by the Guest of Honour, Mr. Supakit Boonsiri, Director General of the Office of Industrial Economics, underscoring the event’s importance in bridging industry and government engagement in the region.

Now in its fifth edition, the Asia Automotive Award has established itself as a respected benchmark for excellence within the Asian automotive landscape. The 2025 edition attracted approximately 250 submissions across 11 award categories, covering areas such as innovation, sustainability, leadership, aftermarket development, motorsports, marketing excellence, and talent development. Following a rigorous and transparent judging process, around 150 shortlisted entries progressed to the interview stage, evaluated by a distinguished panel of industry experts from multiple countries.

The Automotive Lifetime Achievement Award recognises individuals for their outstanding achievements and lasting contributions to the automotive sector in Asia. It symbolises their lifelong dedication, visionary leadership, and impact on the growth and transformation of the industry, inspiring generations of professionals across the region. The recipients of this prestigious accolade were Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysia’s fourth and seventh Prime Minister, and Dr. Prachin Eamlumnow, President and CEO of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, Thailand, recognising their significant and lasting contributions to the regional automotive industry.

Speaking on the significance of hosting the event in Thailand, Dr. Por Boon Kuan, Chairman of the 5th Asia Automotive Award – Thailand Chapter, highlighted that the expansion beyond Malaysia reflects the awards’ strong regional vision and the increasing importance of collaboration across Asian markets. He noted that the Thailand chapter represents an important step in strengthening regional integration and providing greater international exposure for Asian automotive businesses.

Meanwhile, Mr Anothai Eamlumnow, Chief Operating Officer of the Production Division at Grand Prix International Public Company Limited and Vice President of the event, emphasised that the Asia Automotive Award serves not only as a platform to celebrate industry excellence, but also as a catalyst to inspire innovation, sustainability, and long-term progress within the regional automotive sector.
